Large numbers of yachts sail around the Sound of Arisaig and navigate the tortuous entrance channels of the lochs.

Eilean Shona, with its precipitous western slopes and tree-covered eastern hillside, is linked to the smaller island of Shona Beag by an intertidal causeway. Here otters may be seen foraging along the edge of the shore or diving amongst kelp.
